Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. Psalms 4:8
As I was contemplating the state of affairs, the current headline news and trends, and some of my more personal troubles and struggles, the question of how does one maintain a peaceful and fearless mindset came to mind. As I type, the U.S. economy is in a state of decline the likes of which will result in an economic reset. The Federal reserve is printing money like Monopoly causing the value of the dollar to fall like a rock, and the people are none the wiser. We’re losing our young military Service men and women at an alarming rate in a multitude of military conflicts, operations, skirmishes, and proxy wars that seem pointless and fruitless with no end in near sight. The overall health of the nation is spiraling out of control in a trajectory of tragedy. Evidence of this can be seen on the campuses of some our more prestigious universities and research institutions in that the Cancer centers and clinics stay full and the waiting rooms for treatment are getting bigger and bigger. Petty crime seems to be increasing as people become more desperate, or at least this is the perception that’s being propagated in the headlines of many of our local news and media outlets. Relationships are becoming more strained as schedules get tighter and time becomes scarce. And on top of all of this, at a more personal level, my kids think I’m crazy because I demand that they turn off the television every now and then, read a book on occasion, and sit down with me at the dinner table when we eat, look me in the face and have decent conversations about how they’re day has been. What in the Word?! How does one maintain and cultivate a peaceful and restful mindset in the face of a world of chaos, suffering, fear, and anxiety?!
Here are four tips that I’ve incorporated into my life that’s helped me tremendously in developing a mindset of peace and tranquility helping me stay sane and out of the “crazy house.”
Get connected to the Divine Creator — You must get connected to the Divine Creator through His Son Jesus Christ — period. This is the only way to true peace on an Earth with so much suffering, chaos, and destruction. We live in a multidimensional world that’s as much spiritual as physical, meaning that there are more than one plane of existence that influences each other. The only way to true peace, and an existence free of fear and anxiety is by aligning yourself with the One who created the matrix, in which we live and holds everything in balance. True harmony with the Creator is achieved by accepting the work of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. Let go of pride. Repent, or from a state deep sorrow acknowledge that you don’t have all the answers nor is your human strength sufficient to save and rule over your soul. Cease living the way you think is right. Read the Bible for yourself and learn about the way of G_d. Get immersed in a body of water in the name of Jesus, and fellowship regularly with like minded individuals. In taking these actions, I can guarantee that your life will never be the same, and that you will have an encounter with the Divine Creator of the Universe that will change you forever.
Educate Yourself — Self educate yourself about the nature of the universe, the world in which we live, and how things operate and work. Read! Read! Read! Be curious about everything! And develop a thirst for knowledge, understanding, and wisdom! Knowledge is truly power. Information is currency in today’s world, and the more you know the better off you are. Knowledge and understanding helps buffer the onslaught of propagandized messages designed to hold you in boxes of fear, doubt, and worry. When you’re educated about a matter, you understand that there’s always solutions no matter how complex the problems.
Avoid or reduce negativity as much as possible in your life — Stay away from negativity as much as possible. Negativity brings you down. Negativity leads you to states of depression, hopelessness, and loneliness. Negativity sucks the life out you and renders you lifeless and staged for death! Who needs that?! Start listening to uplifting music, get around positive and encouraging people, stand up straight with confidence, smile, make friends, dwell on the beauty of this planet, and focus your thoughts on things that’ll feed you positivity. There’s always something good to think about. So, be intentional about being positive.
Be proactive about being fit, healthy, and well — Be intentional about your health and well being. Join a gym and start exercising. Go for walks, jog, or run. Eat good food. Develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with people in “real” life as well in “virtual” life on the internet. Listen to upbeat, up-lifting, and inspirational music and messages. Read good quality books that help you stay positive. Get your financial life in order and get on a budget. Get a massage every now and then. Get an occasional makeover. Take mini adventure vacations. Etc. There are so many activities and practices that you can implement in your life that will help you stay “fit,” positive, and ready for anything.
In short, even though it seems like things are getting further out of control by the second, you don’t have to live in the state of fear, worry, and anxiousness that theses messages induce. With just a few implemented practices, you can live a state of peace that baffles the most intelligent amongst us!
